Cardiac Fitness Center

The HackensackUMC Mountainside Cardiac Fitness Center is open to cardiac patients, seniors, teens and everyone from the community. Our 5,000 square foot facility offers the safety and expertise of medical supervision and features the only hospital-based indoor walking track in the area. It offers a wide variety of health and fitness programs. In addition, the HackensackUMC Mountainside Cardiac Fitness Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation program is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

Our fitness center team, established in 1972, includes a cardiologist, registered nurses, exercise physiologists and registered dieticians. Many of our professional staff members have more than 20 years experience in rehabilitative services.

You'll get personalized instruction, a variety of cardiovascular and strength training machines - exercise bicycles, elliptical machines, treadmills and more – and male and female locker rooms with complete shower facilities. Specialized, affordable programs include:

Community exercise

This supervised exercise program is for those who wish to lose weight, learn how to exercise properly, and stay

healthy. It is designed based on your needs and helps in reducing high blood pressure, lowering cholesterol, controlling diabetes, and weight reduction.

Bariatric exercise

Tailored to the needs of individuals who have had recent bariatric surgery, this program includes an individual asessment and instructions that will help maintain long-term lifestyle changes.

Totally teen

This six-week program is designed to educate and instruct adolescents 9 to 15 years of age about exercise, diet, and behavior modifications.
