HackensackUMC Mountainside today announced that CEO, John A. Fromhold will join other top health care experts and policymakers at the second annual U.S. News Hospital of Tomorrow leadership forum to address the critical challenges facing the hospital industry today. The summit, to be held October 6 – 8, 2014, in Washington, D.C., aims to develop strategies and solutions that will better equip hospitals for the future. Montclair, NJ August 1, 2014 - - The Mountainside Family Practice Group, a teaching affiliate of HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital, announces the grand re-opening of its newly-renovated Verona site on Bloomfield Avenue. Serving the suburban Essex County, the practice has been a trusted “community doctor’s office” for more than 35 years providing quality, comprehensive and continuing care for individuals and their families across all ages, with an emphasis on disease prevention and general health promotion.
All patients treated at HackensackUMC Mountainside on an inpatient basis now have convenient, secure access to comprehensive information about their hospital care. This free service, provided via YourCareCommunity, is available to all adults who share an e-mail address upon admission
$38K in Hospital Underwriting Will Fund Digital Retrieval System

Time-consuming binder and microfilm searches for birth, death, marriage and civil union certificates will come to an end in the Borough of Glen Ridge. A new document retrieval system is in the works, courtesy of HackensackUMC Mountainside.

Dr. Katharine Palla, of Morris Plains, is among Mountainside Medical Group’s inaugural members. She has practiced internal medicine in the area for many years, taking care of people from adolescence through the senior years. She has a special interest in nutrition and weight loss and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Her office is located at 101 Roseland Avenue in Caldwell, NJ.HackensackUMC Mountainside has created the Mountainside Medical Group, a network of physicians employed by the hospital and based at convenient locations throughout its service area, to help ensure access to essential primary care services. Seven doctors are currently treating patients at three Mountainside Medical Group locations, with more physicians and offices to be added in the coming months.

Dr. Uzma Shafqat, of Parsippany, is among Mountainside Medical Group’s inaugural members. Dr. Shafqat is an endocrinologist with extensive training in treating thyroid diseases, obesity related disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, osteoporosis and hormonal deficiencies. Her current office is located in the Harries Pavilion at HackensackUMC Mountainside in Montclair NJ.

Dr. Stephen Sherry, of Little Falls, is among Mountainside Medical Group’s inaugural members. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Sherry is an endocrinologist who specializes in the treatment of diabetes, metabolic disorders and other hormonal disorders and deficiencies.   Dr. Sherry’s office, as of June 1sHackensackUMC Mountainside has created the Mountainside Medical Group, a network of physicians employed by the hospital and based at convenient locations throughout its service area, to help ensure access to essential primary care services. Dr. Raghav Rastogi, of Fort Lee, is among Mountainside Medical Group’s inaugural members. Board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Rastogi offers general preventative medicine and management of chronic conditions including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and pre-diabetes, and a special focus on men’s health.
