Bariatric Support Group
The Center for Advanced Bariatric Surgery hosts monthly support group meetings run by experienced healthcare professionals. These meetings address various nutritional and behavioral topics to motivate and promote weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. These groups are limited to patients who have had surgery with the Center for Advanced Bariatric Surgery at Mountainside Hospital.

Bereavement Support Group
This support group is designed to address your feelings and concerns as a recently (usually less than one year) bereaved individual. Discussions are led by a Mountainside Hospital Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician in a comfortable, relaxed setting. Topics include the five stage models of loss, the connection between bereavement and mental health issues, and additional ways of supporting the recovery process.

Living with Cancer Support Group
Mountainside Hospital invites you to join our support group for cancer patients, families and friends. Finding your way through cancer can be a challenging and overwhelming journey. This support group offers a forum to further education, facilitate sharing among peers, and promote positive coping skills to handle the practical and emotional challenges of living with cancer.

Look Good…Feel Better
Mountainside Hospital partners with the American Cancer Society to bring you this free, non-medical, brand-neutral, national public service program created to help individuals with cancer look good, improve self-esteem and manage their treatment and recovery with greater confidence. This program includes a free consultation with a certified cosmetologist for anyone undergoing treatment for cancer.

Healing Stitches
Mutual support group for cancer patients to gather weekly to chat, knit or crochet while interacting and creating projects. Families and caregivers are welcome.

Reiki Volunteer Program
At Mountainside Hospital, Reiki is used as a complementary therapy to conventional medical treatments. Reiki is not a religion, creed, or substitute for conventional medical care. Reiki is a simple method of natural healing, intended to provide a calming experience which invokes the relaxation response.
