The Medical Services Administration Department performs credentialing and privileging functions for medical and allied health professionals seeking to join the staff of HackensackUMC Mountainside which currently includes more than 600 physicians with a variety of specialties. Our department follows credentialing standards mandated by the federal government, state government, The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies. 


Our activities include:

  • Coordination of initial appointments and reappointments

  • Medical staff meetings

  • Call schedules

  • Complaint resolution

  • Bylaws maintenance

  • Social events and other medical staff functions


We also provide:

  • Physician orientation for new staff members
  • Annual physician education for current medical staff
  • Medical staff verification in response to requests from third parties
