Affordable programs and screenings for everyone
In keeping with our commitment to proactively promote good health in the communities we serve, our outreach extends far beyond the hospital’s walls. HackensackUMC Mountainside partners with local health departments and community groups to offer an array of programs and services where our constituents live, work and attend school.
Our focus is prevention and wellness – and, since many of our offerings are free, there’s no need to compromise your health due to financial constraints. As your community healthcare partner, we offer:
Screenings: Free and low-cost individual assessments to prevent and detect those at risk for various conditions including stroke, cardiac and bone health issues.
Educational lectures:Talks that provide an opportunity to hear from expert physicians and get the latest health news, as well as prevention and wellness tips. Subjects include prostate health, women's health, diagnostics, arthritis and nutrition.
Corporate events: Workplace screenings and lectures for employee groups covering a wide range of topics such as nutrition, weight loss, women’s and men's health.
In August 2015, HackensackUMC Mountainside undertook a comprehensive community health needs assessment to evaluate the health needs of our comunity. The purpose of the assessment was to gather current statistics and qualitative feedback on the key health issues facing county residents. The assessment examined a variety of health indicators including chronic health conditions, access to health care, and social determinants of health. To read the FInal Report, please click here.
