Take control and avoid complications

According to the American Diabetes Association, more than 29 million adults and children in the United States have diabetes.  About 1.7 million new cases are diagnosed annually and a substantial number of people are unfortunately going undiagnosed and untreated.

Once diagnosed, people with diabetes can take advantage of a wide range of treatments and lifestyle adjustments to effectively manage their condition and significantly reduce their risk of serious complications. The key to diabetes management is achieving a healthy balance. At HackensackUMC Mountainside, we’ll teach you to control your blood sugar levels through good nutrition, exercise and, in many cases, medication management.
