The speech therapy team at Mountainside Medical Center can help with a diverse range of speech, language, swallowing and voice concerns experienced by people of all ages.

Our team is comprised of speech-language pathologists licensed by the state and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and we provide the most current and effective treatment options using state-of-the art instrumentation and knowledge acquired through continuing professional education.

The wide range of specialized services for children, adults and geriatric patients available at Mountainside Medical Center includes:

  • Video esophagrams (Modified Barium Swallows)

  • Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets® (PROMPT)

We also provide these community and professional services:

  • Closed-circuit television access that allows parents and other authorized caregivers to view their loved ones’ therapy and evaluation sessions
  • Speech-language screenings at local preschools
  • Annual community education programs about pediatric speech and language development, voice care and voice disorders
  • Education in swallowing disorders for nurses, aides and other hospital staff, as well as nursing students
