Increasing Community Resources for Treating Cancer

HackensackUMC Mountainside announces the addition of Gynecologic Oncologist Dr. Merieme Klobocista to the hospital’s medical staff. Klobocista specializes in the treatment of gynecologic cancers such as cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, endometrial cancer and others affecting women’s reproductive organs.

“We believe in providing local access to exceptional care and treating the patient where they live,” said John Fromhold, CEO. “With the addition of Dr. Klobocista, HackensackUMC Mountainside provides advanced gynecologic oncology treatment utilizing the latest robot technology. Our patients will benefit from her preeminent expertise in oncology services.”

Dr. Klobocista will utilize the hospital’s da Vinci System which provides enhanced treatment and surgical capabilities, including high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view. Together, robotic surgery technology allows doctors to perform complex procedures through just a few tiny openings resulting in quicker recovery for patients.

Local high school students interested in robotics and healthcare are invited to the next Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Career Panel and Robot Demonstration on March 22 at HackensackUMC Mountainside. For more information and to register, call (888) 973-4674.
